Dead Poetry of some Society

Ok, guys, it's still Thursday right?  Ha ha, well here is that poem that I had planned to put up Tuesday, hope you like it.

The Other Me

We met over a message
as they say, “in the day”
We’d later meet up,
we’d laugh and we’d play

A seed was planted
If only I knew
I took it as friendship
but I’d found something new

Then after some time
I started to see
When I looked at you
What you meant to me

Get a hold of yourself!
You give and you give
Emotions start crumbling
Like sands in a sieve

I wanted to know
If feelings returned
Were like mine to you
But would I be burned?

Now when I see you
My insides give shove
Things are complex
Am I in love?

This was the time,
Came about my other me
An idea arose
Of what I wanted to be

I will be your knight
And fight your foes
I will guard you, protect you
My love for you shows

I will be a great dancer
So light on my feet
I’ll show you, as a pair,
We conquer deceit

I will be your bard
And tell you of tales
Of far away place
Where love never fails

And this other me
Would be perfect for you
He would know all you love
And love all you do

But I’m sorry to say
That this man and me
Are like sugar and salt
Could we ever be?

I am not that brave
My feet are not light
And while I can sing
It’s of another man’s fight

If only I were
This other me’s me
Maybe, just maybe
MY, love will you see

Although I’m outmatched
Ten thousand to one
I only can hope
Our song will be sung
