Ok, so I had an hour or so til my next thing I had to go to (please excuse me for not telling you what it is, I just like to keep you in the dark ha ha .... sigh) so I decided to check blogger for no particular reason. Mostly because I already checked my e-mail, and I told myself I wouldn't go on facebook or youtube until I finished my homework (this is my loophole ha ha!). I noticed all two of the people that I follow had already posted today. "Alright," I though, "I'll join the crowd." That's were this comes in.
Remember that thing I said a long time ago about wanting to put up some of my "writings" and how I hoped that this would not be just a random rant blog thing-a-thing? (Wait... what? oh that was only two or so posts ago? wow I need to write more.) Well guess what. I have no more writing stuff to add yet, but I am working on it, so take some comfort in the fact that I haven't just totally given up on it. I am putting this up because I just realized something.
There are times when I just hit that next blog button and hope for something cool. During these times I notice that there are a lot of boring blogs out there. I like to think that my posts are unique, and... well frankly not all of them are worth reading, but I do try to make them interesting. However, when you think about it, there are a lot of blogs on the internet. Lets just take all the other websites out of the equation. There are tons of blogs, even when you take out all the ones that are just baby pictures or copy-pasted news articles with animated GIFs of Bill Clinton butt slapping some bikini girl there are more than anyone could read even if they cared enough to. I start to think, "Is there even the slightest chance that I'll be able to talk to more than just my keyboard when I write these things?" The simple (and most-likely correct) answer is no way Jose. Then I go, "MY NAME'S NOT JOSE!!!" (Geeze Luke that was stupid... now where was I...)
Right about here I think. The point I'm trying to make is that there is a lot of stuff out there, and to be recognized for anything now you not only have to be crazy talented, but also one of the luckiest devils out there. It also helps to have money to get you recognized. It isn't impossible. I've seen people use various forms of media to get their ideas and talents out for people to see them. My favorite example is a man named Shay Carl. You most likely have not heard of him, but he went from having twenty-five dollars in his bank account after paying the bills to making a six-figure income making youtube videos. It is really neat and inspiring to see that happen. In my little fantasy world I would love to make it big either on youtube, television/movies, theater, and/or my music. I really want to be famous. There I said it, and I know everybody would like to be famous, and I can't say that I want it more than them blah blah blah. Why do you guys always have to shut me down?
Still, if I may quote the song written by Rivers Cuomo, "I want to be something before I die. I want to be something, I don't know why. I want to know that at least I tried." Quick shout-out for you all. Go listen to that song "I want to be something" by Weezer =w=. Anyway, that song pretty much describes how I feel about this whole thing.
I guess the key to finding what you want to do is find something that you love to do. Something you have a passion for, and then you don't give up when things get hard. Obviously you are going to have to do things you might not want to do just to live, but the thing that I love about America is something that is still true is that we have the freedom and the opportunity to change our lives, and be whatever we want to. They catch is that it takes a lot of time and A LOT of work. Still, I am a believer that it is very possible. I have to go to ... my thing now so I need to wrap this up. I guess since you were so nice in reading this whole thing I'll reward you. I'm going to an academic advising appointment. Exciting huh? =P
Love you all more than... This expired UTA trax pass. I love you guys SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT!!!
